These air currents are usually caused by gaps around window- and doorframes, and while it is sometimes possible to seal the gaps to fix the issue, in other cases, the most effective solution is to replace the window or door altogether.
• Difficulty in Opening or Closing. Another sign that you may need to replace your windows and doors is difficulty in opening and closing them. Your doors should fit neatly into their frames and not drag on the ground, and your windowpanes should slide smoothly open and closed.
